Join us for a walk and talk in the Wellsford State Forest, visiting some of the few remaining pre-European trees.  These big old-growth trees have survived the goldrush, logging and firewood collection, against the odds.  Stuart Fraser, from Bendigo and District Environment Council, will join us to share his knowledge and passion for the protection of the Wellsford Forest and its precious old trees.  We will then do a short walk in the forest and enjoy the Spring wildflowers.

We’ll meet in Murphy Lane Longlea, adjacent to the Junortoun General Store and Post Office, which is on the corner of McIvor Highway and Murphy Lane.

Wear sturdy footwear and suitable clothing, bring drinking water, also binoculars and a camera if you wish.  Protect yourself from sun, mosquitos, wind and rain.

The walk and talk will take approximately 2.5 hours.  It is an easy walk, mostly flat, apart from the need to cross two shallow earthen channels.

Please RSVP here and include your phone number.  You will get an email confirming your booking, with details of specific starting point.  (Email’s Subject: RSVP Confirmation ACF Bendigo District October Wellsford Ramble from ACF [email protected])

If you RSVP, we will also have an idea of how many are coming so we don't leave you behind if you are running late!

Hope to see you there :-)
