Just 26% of women think nuclear would be good for Australia, compared to 51% of men. The polling firm DemosAU said this is the starkest gender divide its seen on any political issue.

The gender divide on nuclear energy is a sign the Coalition is still out of touch with women when it comes to tackling the climate crisis. In 2022, the female vote was paramount in the outcome of the Federal election, so your email to the Coalition will get their attention!

Women understand that renewables provide the cheapest and cleanest form of energy and that the technology is here now – ready to go.

Meanwhile, nuclear is decades away and comes with enormous risks: disasters like Fukushima and Chernobyl, toxic waste, and staggering cost and timeline blowouts.

Nuclear isn’t just dangerous – it’s a distraction from real climate action and makes no sense for Australia.

We must not lose sight of the progress we've made. Regardless of your gender, write to our leaders today and assure them that you want a renewable not radioactive tomorrow.
