No to nuclear submarines public forum

We know AUKUS is high-cost, but we don’t know much about the full plan, the consequences and the risks of nuclear contamination. Join the No AUKUS Coalition Victoria to hear from speakers:

• Peter Garrett, former lead singer of Midnight Oil, ALP federal Environment Minister and ACF president.
• Arthur Rorris, Secretary of the South Coast Labour Council and critic of a planned nuclear submarine base at Port Kembla.
• Dr Margie Beavis, convenor of the Nobel Peace Prize winning International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons and member of the Medical Association for the Prevention of War.
• Tony Mavromatis,  Victorian secretary of the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union.
• Dave Sweeney, ACF’s Nuclear Free Campaigner and cofounder of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons.

With scant scrutiny or debate the nuclear subs plan is moving ahead. We need to act to get some real answers and a security commitment by asking Australia to sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
