Cooks River Nature Laws BBQ

Join us for a family-friendly day out!

We’re gathering the community together to show support for strong new laws to protect the forests, rivers, air and oceans that support our wildlife and the places we love.

We’ll be presenting our biggest petition ever – 177,000 people demanding strong new laws to end extinction – to local MP and Shadow Environment Minister, Tony Burke.

With family-friendly activities and a vegetarian BBQ lunch, it will be an inspiring and fun-filled day out for all.

Check out the program:

11:30 am – Event starts with Welcome to Country
11:45 am onwards – Face painting and vegetarian BBQ starts
12:00 pm – Reptile show by the Australian Reptile Park
12:45 pm – Speeches and petition handover
2:00 pm – Event finishes

We’ll be at the BBQs near the tennis courts at Lees Park on the Cooks River. Access to the area is from the corner of Hay St and Harmony St, Ashbury.
