NAB is releasing a new gas and oil policy this September. If we take action now, we have a huge opportunity to push NAB to become the first big bank to commit to stop funding gas.
To encourage NAB to take this positive action for our climate, we are teaming up with our allies at 350.org to organise two big rallies outside the front of their Melbourne and Sydney HQs on Wednesday 14 July. Will you come along to the Sydney rally? Save the date now!
What: Rally: NAB, get out of gas, Sydney Where: NAB HQ Sydney. Meet at Wynyard Park, on top of Wynyard Station When: Wednesday 14 July, 12pm Bring: A face mask, and wear red or black clothes |
Over the last few months, we as a community have sent NAB thousands of emails, written hundreds of comments on their Facebook posts, and made clear to them the community demand for them to do the right thing by people and planet.
Now, in this final stretch before NAB’s big gas & oil policy decision, we need to raise our voices one more time, and make sure NAB knows the pressure is on them to step up for our climate.
There is no better place to do this than right on the bank’s doorstep where all their key decision makers will be.
On rally day at 12pm we’ll gather out the front of NAB’s HQ, hand out signs and banners (feel free to make your own!), hear from speakers, then break into some chants.
We want to bring a lot of noise, colour and a strong crowd, to create a compelling, undeniable splash of community demand.
It will be a super energising event. People united, at the headquarters of one of Australia's biggest banks, calling on them to take big, positive climate action. It's a big moment for climate. You don't want to miss it.
