Ask PM Turnbull to deliver the Murray-Darling Basin Plan

For a thriving basin, our river needs to flow from source to sea. It's time for Malcolm Turnbull to follow through on the fair water plan that has been a decade in the making.

The Murray-Darling Basin is the lifeblood for our communities, wildlife, 20,000 farms and millions of people.

But right now, a few rogue irrigators and their political backers are lobbying hard to rig the rules and erode the Basin Plan so they can take more than their fair share of river water.

We have a duty to protect our river so everyone who calls the river home – the people, wildlife, farms, critters and cities – can thrive for generations to come.

Will you sign the petition to demand Malcolm Turnbull say no to the vested interests and deliver the Basin Plan on time and in full?

Prime Minister Turnbull, your party paved the way for a plan that would fairly represent the needs of the whole basin, from the biggest crops to the smallest critters. Now, we call on you to make sure the Basin Plan:

  • Legally dedicates 3,200 GL of river water to our rivers so they can flow with more natural cycles of flooding and drying
  • Removes barriers and outdated rules so our rivers can replenish natural floodplains
  • Uses the best available science to manage the current and future impact of global warming
  • Is overseen by transparent institutions we can trust to look after our rivers and ensure everyone plays by the rules.

By signing this petition, you're showing your support for every town, turtle, farm, fisherman, red gum, retailer, critter and community who depend on a healthy basin.

Together, let's stand up for the plan that gives us all a fair go and keeps our river flowing for everyone – not just the ones with the deepest pockets. #Source2Sea

It’s important for you and your party to go ahead and deliver on the Basin Plan in full, the sooner the better. Without living rivers and oceans our futures are grim.

The Murry River is the life line of this country. We need to STOP people from raping the river system for their own personal greed by selling that water off to the highest bidder. It is wrong and immoral for our government to allow this to continue.

The LAND has no life without water – therefore neither will anything else. WHY is there no “common sense”? Is it bribes & corruption?? Surely must be – when even “Blind Freddie” can see where this will leed!!
