Join ACF, Birdlife, The Wilderness Society, Nature Conservation Council of NSW, and all nature-lovers across Sydney for a big, powerful and inspiring March for Nature.

Everywhere you look, nature is at breaking point. Bulldozers raging in our forests. Frackers and miners plundering wild places. Animals pushed to extinction.

Let’s make our community's demands heard as the Albanese Government prepares to host global political and business leaders for the Nature Positive Summit in Sydney.

It’s our big moment to turn out an enormous crowd for the nature we love. With the spotlight and cameras on Australian decision makers – let’s show we want real and urgent action to halt the destruction of our forests, rivers, and wildlife.

Together we can set our living world on a path of healing, not destruction, but we must turn up and show we care: Stop bulldozing the bush. End the extinction crisis. No more approvals for nature-wrecking coal and gas!

Momentum is building towards a big, colourful and powerful march. Environment groups are coming together, and exciting activities are taking shape for people of all ages, including:

  • Snuff Puppets will bring larger-than-life native animal creations to the march. A giant, cheeky magpie and big cuddly koala will migrate to Sydney for the day to march with their human allies!
  • Artist Al Phemister will lead a sustainable sculpture making workshop after the march featuring an iconic Australian species. People of all ages and art experiences can take part.
  • There’ll be food trucks, music and more activities to be announced.

What else to expect:

  • Let's highlight the animals, plants and places we love that we risk losing forever. We encourage you to bring pictures, paint signs, or come with costumes or props that show the nature you care about.
  • This event is for people of all ages, walks of life, and families. Because we all love nature.
  • The march will be followed by a fun ‘festival for nature', with talks, performances, art projects, and other activities for the whole family.
  • We strive to make the March for Nature as accessible as possible. It will include a 1.2km walk between The Domain and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair in the botanic gardens. If you have any accessibility questions, please get in contact with [email protected].
