Learn all about mangroves and their environment while also looking for koalas and wading birds.
We have the expertise of Toni Cannard, a coastal ecologist with CSIRO, for the outing. Toni has led projects in estuarine ecosystem restoration and a recent review of environmental offsets to account for urban development clearing. She has also recently completed a PhD thesis on Balancing Fisheries and Coastal Management across the Triple Bottom Line. Toni volunteers with Coochiemudlo Island Bushcare and Coast Care groups. She believes that community stewardship is the most powerful management strategy available.
This is a family friendly event. Some walking is involved but we will only go as far as Nandeebie Clay pans.
