The eucalypt forests, wild rivers and sandstone outcrops of the Greater Blue Mountains are home to an incredible diversity of life.

But pressure from the NSW State Government to raise the Warragamba Dam and mine for coal is threatening to destroy the very values that make this region so unique.

Join us at the Macquarie federal election candidates’ forum to hear where major party candidates stand on local environment issues, climate change and the need for new national environment laws.

We need strong new nature laws to protect our air, our water, our wildlife and our beloved Blue Mountains. But which parties and candidates will champion real change?

The evening will include a lively debate and a moderated Q&A session with the audience. ACF Nature Campaigner Jess Abrahams will host the debate between:

  • Labor candidate and local MP Susan Templeman MP
  • Greens candidate Kingsley Liu
  • Liberal candidate Sarah Richards was invited but is unavailable

This is your chance to meet the candidates vying for your vote and ask them the pressing environmental questions that matter most to you.

Local event partners including the Blue Mountains Conservation Society, Colong Foundation for Wilderness, the Give a Dam Alliance, Stop Adani Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury Environment Network, will be there too.

We hope to see you there!
