Our water, Our Lifeblood: Regional Roadshow comes to Mackay!

Water is the lifeblood of Queensland. Regional and farming communities work hard to put food on our dinner table every week – and they rely on clean water for their survival.

Yet if built, Adani’s proposed mega-mine would:

  • Drain an estimated 12.5 billion litres of water per year from nearby catchments.
  • Threaten ancient spring oases that provide permanent water and habitat during drought.
  • Leave behind 6 unfilled coal pits that will drain millions of litres of groundwater every year.

When more than two thirds of Queensland is suffering from drought, we need to ask ourselves – what are the real, long term impacts of Adani’s mine on our communities? And how can we ensure our precious water resources are protected for generations to come?

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from experts in water management about how Adani’s coal mine will impact Queensland’s lifeblood.

There will be time for questions and discussion after a short panel.

This is an independently run event. 'Our Water, Our Lifeblood: Regional Roadshow' is presented by our friends at Lock The Gate Alliance. Mackay forum hosted by Mackay Conservation Group.
