How do candidates for the House of Representatives in the seat of Bennelong view the importance and priority of the environmental issues that face us?

Candidates in the electorate of Bennelong were asked if they (or their spokesperson) could attend a public forum to present their environment policies in East Ryde this weekend.

Date: Saturday 18 June

Time: 2.30 to 3.45 p.m

Venue: Environmental Education Centre, Field of Mars Reserve, East Ryde (car parking outside main entrance from Pittwater Road, opposite Buffalo Creek Reserve).

Six out of seven of the Bennelong candidates agreed to attend the public forum which has been organised by the Ryde Hunters Hill Flora and Fauna Preservation Society.

Those candidates attending are:

Justin Alick (The Greens),
John August (Pirate Party),
Christopher Gordon (The Arts Party),
Lyndal Howison (Australian Labor Party),
Martin Mulcare (Independent),
Julie Worsley (Christian Democrats).

The sitting member, John Alexander (Liberal Party), has a prior engagement, but has been invited to arrange for a spokesperson. At this stage, Mr Alexander’s office has not indicated if a spokesperson will attend on the day.

After the speakers' presentations, questions will be invited from the audience. The forum will be followed by afternoon tea at the nearby Visitors Centre, hosted by the Society. Everyone welcome!

For further information or any enquiries about the day email or ring Cathy at [email protected] or 0400 632 933.
