CALLING PARTY into the marginal Federal electorate of Chisholm

We in Kooyong and our supporters are calling people in next-door Chisholm, a key marginal Federal electorate — a place that is important for us to demonstrate that climate is a vote winner.

We want to show the main political parties they have to improve their policies to stop climate pollution if they want to win votes. This is part of an ACF goal of making 52,000 phone calls to ensure that the Federal election is the climate election.

Already, ACF volunteers have been out across the nation in their communities and have surveyed tens of thousands of people about their views on climate change and what matters most to them when it comes to voting. Seven out of 10 people we speak to are committing to vote for a party that will stop Adani’s polluting mine, end digging and burning coal, and switch to 100% clean energy.

Dozens of ACF community members across Australia took these survey results to their local members of parliament. This happened in Chisholm but Julia Banks, the current MP (Liberal) has not been responsive to date.

ACF is also running door knocking campaigns in Chisholm and other key electorates where the votes are close, having thousands of conversations about climate change. Please join up on the ACF website for those coming up in Chisholm.

On the basis of the calls and doorknocks, we’ll call on Chisholm candidates to step up and push their parties to stop disastrous climate damage. And of course we’ll get more people to vote to StopAdani, Stop New Coal, Go for Clean Energy!
