Join us to discuss crucial nature law reform on Friday 10th November.

Hear from ACF’s National Biodiversity Policy Adviser Brendan Sydes, and federal Members of Parliament (MPs) Dr Monique Ryan (Kooyong) and Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah (Higgins). ACF Campaigns Director Paul Sinclair will be the MC.

Speakers on the panel

We will explore what our federal government must do to ensure that our unique plants, animals and places are protected – and how we community members can push our elected representatives to speak up for nature.

The beauty of nature is all around us. But bulldozing of forests, bushlands and wetlands, along with extreme weather like floods, fires and droughts fuelled by climate change, are threatening the places and wildlife we love.

Our national nature laws (the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation, or EPBC, Act) are failing to protect nature that communities and wildlife love and rely on.  Australia’s biodiversity has declined rapidly under the EPBC Act and we now have more than 1,700 species and ecological communities that are known to be threatened and at risk of extinction.

Let’s reverse this devastating trajectory by coming together to ensure that nature is properly protected and encouraging our elected representatives to be champions for nature.

Come along to hear how you can put your love for nature into action! You’ll be able to ask questions of the panel.
