Inaugural bushwalk and picnic

Hello Darebin ACF supporters!

Our neighbours at Melb NxNW ACF group have some events coming up this weekend that we'd like to share with you.

Inaugral Bushwalk & Picnic: 10.30am Sunday 26th March 2023. Please join ACF Melbourne North by NorthWest for the first of our bimonthly walks and picnic.

Our first walk will be a gentle one along the Maribyrnong River. We’ll be led by Lorraine who has years of experience working on and walking in the Maribyrnong Valley. Lorraine has a wealth of knowledge of the area so this is a great chance to learn more about this important local area. 

We will meet at 10.30am at Canning Reserve, off Cordite Avenue, Avondale Heights. Meet just near the gate separating the carpack from the River trail path, look out for a couple of ACF t-shirts. 

The walk will take us to Steele Creek and we will return within about 1 to 1.5 hours for a picnic and catch up back at Canning Reserve. Bring a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, picnic lunch (won't need to be carried as we return to the meeting spot), walking shoes.

Our plan is to venture further afield in subsequent walks and those will involve greater time commitment. However we'll be guided by member interest - so please come to this one and put forward your ideas.
