Frog species are environmental indicators for good water quality and high value habitat. The annual Frog Census collects important data to track the health of our local frog populations over time and support sustainability. It is also fun to track frog calls! 231 sites will be monitored across Canberra and ACF Community Canberra is offering you the opportunity to participate at two of them.
Bring a torch, warm clothing and suitable footwear, a device to record frog calls, and a pad and pen.
Time: 7-9pm. After an introduction, we will walk to the survey point. Please note that surveys start no earlier than 30 mins after sunset.
We will also re-visit the same site the following week (Fri 28 October).
The event will be postponed in the event of wet or windy weather.
NB: The location isn't accurately reflected in the attached map. Go to Long Gully Road near the corner of Mugga Lane (look for the Isaacs Ridge Nature Reserve sign on the north side of Long Gully Road)
See you there!
