We hear about how climate change will impact globally, but what about right here on the Gold Coast?

Join ACF Community Burleigh Heads and like-minded locals for an informative and inspiring evening at Robina Community Centre. The forum will feature expert speakers who will share how climate change will effect our beautiful home.

Then, we'll have the opportunity to hear from a panel of locals on what they're doing to address climate change individually, in our community, and businesses. And of course there will be plenty of time to chat and find out how you can get involved!

The panel of speakers includes:

  • Associate Professor Jamie Seymour of James Cook University – Director of the Tropical Australian Stinger Research Unit (TASRU) or the “Jelly Dude from Nemo land” who will talk about some of the critters that will be attracted by the warming climate and water
  • Professor Brendan Mackey of Griffith University – Director of the Climate Change Response Program at Griffith University, who will provide context and more information about climate change impacts on the Gold Coast.
  • Nicky Ison of Community Power Agency – Founding Director, Community Power Agency, who will speak about how the transition to clean energy is now inevitable and provide the case for hope moving forward.

You'll walk away connected, fired up, and armed with practical actions you can take to address climate change – from right here on the Gold Coast.

Doors open at 6pm - see you there!

ACF Community Burleigh Heads is part of a network of independently organised, volunteer-run groups in the ACF community. ACF will pass on your contact details to the host for the purpose of running the event.
