Environmental Activist Howard Witt will discuss the recent climate report by UNSW Professors Richard Holden and Rosalind Dixon, and will compare their “Australian Carbon Dividend Plan” to the Citizens' Climate Lobby’s “Carbon Fee & Dividend” proposal. All welcome to share a light meal (good food) from 1:15 pm; look for Citizens' Climate Lobby T-shirts.
The venue is RSL Club 23 Letitia St Oatley, a five-minute walk from Oatley Train Station.
Generally we support each other in the creation of ideas to promote alternative energy sources to reduce climate disruption by
- raising popular awareness of the need to act quickly on climate
- helping each other with writing letters to newspapers and to community leaders
- proposing a brilliant method of pricing fossil fuels
- following well-thought-out strategies for meetings with community leaders and politicians
Long-time members will explain to newcomers how Citizens' Climate Lobby advocacy for action on climate change complements protest demonstrations.
No pressure. Just come for an amusing video if you don't feel in a political mood.
Hoping to see you there - we need more hands on deck because the task is enormous. The more we accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy, the less catastrophic will be the lives of our children and grandchildren.
