He will cover the current EV status worldwide and in Australia, latest developments, how they differ from diesel and petrol-driven cars, all you need to know about plugging them in, and the pros & cons of owning an EV. Tom will also discuss how EV charging can work in with your home solar, home battery and the grid to achieve sustainable transport for the future.
Tom was an early adopter of Electric Vehicles, starting with a Toyota Prius hybrid which he converted into a plug-in electric while waiting for a fully electric option to become affordable. He added to his considerable knowledge of electric car developments and charging aspects by touring with a BMW electric car in the UK and Europe for an extended period in 2018. He and his wife now own two electric cars, which they have used from Melbourne to Cairns.
