Located behind an old church, Oakhill Food Justice Farm is Sustain’s second urban farm in Melbourne and represents an important next step in realising the city-wide vision of a thriving food justice training network.
A 'food is free' initiative, 100% of the produce grown onsite is distributed amongst Oakhill farmers and through food relief initiatives such as DIVRS. By offering training in urban agriculture and peer-to-peer networking opportunities, Oakhill Food Justice Farm builds food systems literacy and empowers community with skills and stronger social connections.
We're planning an exciting visit on Saturday 19 November (new date) with a guided tour and activities e.g. seed sowing, planting, maintenance and learning new skills, followed by a delicious vegie BBQ. This is a great opportunity to learn about how to pursue your own backyard food farm through learning new skills, listening and observing what is involved - and support the farm in its work too.
Numbers are limited so make sure you RSVP to secure your place.
Make sure you dress for the weather: sun protection, wet weather gear, sturdy shoes, comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirt on
If you or guests have any accessibility needs we should be aware of, please let us know as soon as possible so we can get in touch.
