Ahead of a critical Senate vote next week, urge Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to invest our public money in cheap, clean energy from the sun and wind – don't hand it out to climate-wrecking coal and gas companies.
Forward him the letter now!
The letter you forward makes two key demands of our Prime Minister:
- Shut coal and gas companies out of the Future Made in Australia's $22.7 billion funding pool. This money is meant to be an investment in clean energy for Australia.
- Scrap the $1.9 billion handout for the destructive Middle Arm gas hub in Darwin that would enable fracking in the Beetaloo Basin. Instead, spend the money to help the NT transition to a net-zero economy.
Public money should be an investment in a brighter future.
The Future Made in Australia Bills will invest critical funds into creating the clean energy we need to power our homes and manufacture green steel, solar panels, wind and solar batteries and more. ACF-commissioned research shows that in addition to tackling pollution, Australia’s clean energy industry can create 395,000 good, secure jobs and make over $314 billion a year.
But to make this brighter future a reality, the government must also embrace a faster shift away from the destructive gas and coal pollution that threatens our future. That means not continuing to prop up gas and coal giants.
Ahead of next week’s Senate vote, we can push our government to spend our public money wisely. Send letter now!
