Adani's proposed mega-mine would dig up the home of most of the last remaining flocks of our beautiful black-throated finch.
New legal advice and new scientific evidence reveal Adani’s "plan" to protect the endangered finch is grossly inadequate and the bird could be wiped out forever. Approval of the mine may also be unlawful because of the impacts on our finch.
But Australians don’t want this mine dug or critical wildlife habitat bulldozed by a billionaire.
Governments have a duty of care for life, to ensure that animals and people are not harmed by reckless development and pollution.
The decision to approve this mine sits with Minister Ley. She has a choice – let big polluting companies like Adani get away with it, or listen to the community and reject this mine.
Sign the petition to tell the Federal Minister for the Environment, Sussan Ley, to:
Reject Adani’s Carmichael coal mine and create strong new laws to protect our wildlife.
