Fair Play Bill Launch

On Tuesday 1 August, we're joining the #OurDemocracy alliance to launch the Fair Play Bill – a set of common-sense electoral reforms to stop big money from dominating our democracy so it works for everyone, not just the powerful few.

The Fair Play Bill was developed by a range of lawyers, political experts and civil society members. We now have a set of detailed and credible legislation based on the reforms in our Framework for a Fair Democracy

Will you join us on the lawns of Parliament House in Canberra to launch the Fair Play Bill with a big show of people power that our political representatives cannot ignore?

The Bill launch will be lots of fun – there’ll be speakers, theatrics, photos and more! We’re planning an epic tug of war to demonstrate the uneven playing field in our democracy – and how the Fair Play Bill could balance the score.

Bought influence over our elected representatives is blocking progress on issues that impact our communities. Be it for climate action, human rights, gambling or gun safety, we must ensure that democracy belongs to us – the people.

We need to put people and the planet – not corporate profits – back at the heart of every decision our government makes. 

Join us for a peaceful stunt and rally on the lawns in front of Parliament House in Canberra. The more people there, the bigger the message we send to our leaders that our community demands a democracy that isn’t captured by corporate interests.
