If there’s one thing we’ve learnt over the past few years it’s that the internet is an amazing tool that keeps us connected, and we should use that in our advocacy work!

With our ACF community groups spread far and wide across the country, Slack is what we use to bridge the gap so we can all remain connected and engaged with each other in our united fight for action to protect nature and climate.

That's why we are inviting you to join our training session on how to use the basics of Slack to strengthen your community group.

Slack is an online application that allows ACF community group members, fellows and staff to talk in real time. Whether it be inviting others to an event, sharing good news about a recent win, recommending a documentary or book or simply asking a question - Slack keeps you connected and up to date with your group, ACF as an organisation and the broader movement.

This training will cover the following:

Starting with Slack

  • Downloading, installing and logging into Slack
  • Workspace
  • Permission level, naming conventions

 Slack features

  • How we communicate: Channels, Direct Message (DM), Threads and Mentions

There will be a live demonstration of how to use Slack and you'll have the opportunity to have a go as well!

The online training starts at 6.30 pm AEDT – so that's 6.30 pm in ACT, NSW, TAS, and VIC; 6 pm in the SA; 5.30 pm in QLD and the NT; 3.30 pm in WA.

The training will go for an hour and a half.

Who is this training for?

  • Community group members who haven't used Slack at all and would like to start using it.
  • Community group members who have used Slack and looking to refresh their knowledge.

After you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the training.

See you there!
