Email Labor Leader Anthony Albanese: Protect our clean energy laws, say no to gas
The Morrison government is about to push amendments through Parliament to water down our brightest clean energy laws – changing the remit of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) and Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) so they can research and finance gas projects.
The Senate has the power to block these changes!
Encourage your representative in the Senate to be a clean energy champion by voting down amendments to CEFC and ARENA legislation
Gas is a climate disaster. Our latest report reveals that gas projects and facilities in Australia spouted out around 81 million tonnes of climate pollution in 2018-19.
Meanwhile, in less than a decade, the CEFC and ARENA have combined to power an incredible 12,238 clean energy projects across the country, like growing 17,000 tonnes of tomatoes using world-leading solar thermal technology in Port Augusta, and installing an award-winning solar system on the roofs of Bundaberg Christian College.
Email Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese to lead Labor’s Senators in voting to protect the CEFC and ARENA so we keep investing in incredible clean energy projects, not gas pollution.
As the leader of the Australian Labor Party, Albanese can ensure ALP Senators stand strong!
We have been successful before. In 2013, the ACF community spoke out to save the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, and our Senators – from Labor and the cross-bench – heeded the call by voting to protect it.
The CEFC and ARENA are Australia’s only significant climate policies left after the law that made polluters pay for their pollution was wound back by Tony Abbott.
If we all come together and use our collective voice, we can send thousands of personal emails and once again save these policies that are supercharging clean energy throughout Australia.
