Eden-Monaro candidate's forum: Laws to protect the places we love

From Bungendore to Jindabyne and Eden, the tall forests, flowing rivers and plains of the electorate of Eden-Monaro are home to a vibrant diversity of life.

But because big companies are bulldozing our forests and woodlands, iconic local animals like koalas are vulnerable to extinction. State government inaction on feral horses and other introduced species is damaging the magnificent Australian Alps. Plastic pollution clogs otherwise beautiful beaches.

It’s clear we need strong new environment laws and institutions to protect our big old trees, our air, water, wildlife and our future.

The choice voters in the electorate of Eden-Monaro make is famous for matching the outcome of federal elections.
