Like to help develop a new story for our democracy campaign?

To solve the big challenges we face, we need to revitalise our democracy and the faith people place in it.

But right now, powerful voices like big coal lobbyists are skewing public deliberations in their favour. Our democratic system is not working to protect our environment from climate damage or habitat destruction. Increasingly fed up with politics, people everywhere are disengaging.

That's why, with allies across civil society, we're getting ready to launch a new campaign to get big money out of politics and put people back in. We'd like your help to nut out a compelling story to make this campaign huge.

First step – we need a compelling campaign story to move people to action – and we'd like your help.

In this hands-on workshop, together we'll:

  • Talk about how people in our communities understand politics, government and democracy
  • Analyse how the dominant stories in mainstream media and politics are limiting our imaginations and the democratic menu
  • Collaboratively develop a new story to motivate people to get involved
  • Make plans to inspire our fellow citizens to "do democracy" and create a better future for everyone and every living thing.

All welcome! No previous story or campaign experience necessary.

Please RSVP so we bring enough afternoon tea.
