Dawson Valley Butterfly Weekend - Day 2

Who doesn’t love the brilliance of butterflies? The Dawson Valley is lucky to have several endemic species as well as more familiar Queensland favourites.

Over the weekend of the 15–16 October, the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland’s Upper Dawson Branch is celebrating the Society’s 60th year with a weekend of fun, fluttery joy.

As well as mingling with like-minded nature lovers and enjoying morning tea and some free celebratory butterfly cake, you’ll learn:

• about Queensland’s butterflies and their lifecycle and ecological importance
• how to identify particular butterfly species
• how you can help sight and survey for butterflies and record your findings in useful ways.

Join members of the ACF Brisbane West Conservation Network Community group as we join Wildlife Queensland members for this special butterfly weekend. Choose the day which suits you best - the program is the same in both locations - and take the opportunity to explore nearby attractions such as Isla Gorge National Park and Lake Murphy Conservation Park.
