The Darling Range is a special place, as ecologically rich as it is beautiful. And yes, it’s big!

But this precious place is under immense threat. With proposed developments like the North Stoneville Townsite in the Perth Hills, to the clearing of our Northern Jarrah Forests for mining, we’re seeing the destruction of critical ecosystems and massive threat to our precious wildlife.

The many communities who live, work, play and create here all share a common respect for, and love of, Nature. I’m privileged to be one of them. With the noisy, hustle and bustle of life, the sight of the woodland scarp instantly calms me. And I’m so grateful for the moments I share with my animal buds who visit me at their leisure like Rastas the ‘roo, Nemo the bobtail and Frankie the bandicoot.

I can’t stand by and watch the habitat and homes of Rastas, Frankie, Nemo and all my other animal friends disappear forever. I really hope you feel the same way too.

I’d love to catch up over a tasty, hot bevvie to look at ways that we, as a community, can come together to protect and save our Big Backyard!

I would like to invite you to join me for a cuppa in nature, to start connecting with others in the area who care and want to protect nature.

WHAT: Cuppa and nature meet at Cafe Mojo in Mundaring
WHERE: Cafe Mojo, 16 Craig Street, Mundaring
WHEN: Sunday 18 June, from 10-11.30am
TREAT: First cup of coffee on us!

This deep connection with Nature is what makes our place so special. It’s a sanctuary for me and home to many native plants and animals flora and fauna, including several endangered species.

We’ll keep the catch up small in number so we can get to know each other while we look at opportunities to collaborate and stand up for nature. And what better spot to kick off than Cafe Mojo. It’s like having a cuppa at a friend’s place, with its relaxed backyard vibe, free-roaming bandicoots, rugs to keep you warm and cosy, and really great coffee. Like the chalkboard says: “a hug in a mug”. And your first cuppa of the morning is on me!

So please join me for a chilled but productive and social morning

I really look forward to meeting you and looking at how we, as a community, can bring our different skills and passions together to make a difference for nature.

We know that people power drives the change we need to see in our communities, and this happens through many creative ways.

So please do join me!

In solidarity,

Bree
