A rare chance to hear directly from the nation's experts on climate change and how it will impact Central Queensland.

The symposium will be presented in three sessions to tell the climate change story as it relates to Central Queensland:

  1. The long-range weather projections for Central Queensland. This session will present the science and provide the facts about climate change and its impacts on our region.
  2. Making changes for a cooler future. Hear how it is both possible and beneficial for us to take steps to slow or stop climate change.
  3. Preparing for our future. Our expert speakers will provide us with some ideas on how we can be prepared for some specific challenges that CQ will face - impacts on wildlife and their habitats, increased frequency and intensity of bushfires, having to adapt farming practices for a different climate, and looking after our health in the heat.

We often get to read about the world climate change story, but rarely get to hear about what it means here and the changes that will impact us directly. This symposium will be a chance to hear from the experts about climate change projections and predicted impacts for Central Queensland.

Come along and hear the facts from science communicators and experts. Leave with inspiration to take action and towards a positive future for all.
