To achieve real climate action in Australia we need to shift the climate stance of big lobby groups like the Business Council of Australia (BCA).
Right now, we're focusing our efforts on pressuring supermarket giants Coles and Woolies to dump the BCA. This will make it much harder for the BCA to sabotage the climate movement in Australia.
The Coles AGM is the year's biggest event for the one of the company's key stakeholders – shareholders. Coles would hate for its AGM to be clouded in climate controversy.
We'll raise the BCA issue inside during the AGM. But we need everyday people outside the Convention Centre to alert shareholders that Coles is a BCA member, supporting the powerful lobby group that blocks climate action.
We’ll meet for a briefing at 12 midday then disperse to various entrances to hand out flyers to shareholders as they walk inside. Together, we can put Coles’ membership of the BCA firmly on the agenda.
If even half of the attendees engage with the information we’re sharing, that’s a critical mass of shareholders who will know the damage the BCA is doing – and will be paying close attention when the Coles Board and Executive are asked the hard questions during the meeting.
Coles is very protective of its brand image, especially when its shareholders are watching 👀
We need you – the determined, passionate people who make up the ACF Community to turn up and deliver a clear message to shareholders: 'Dump the BCA!' Are you in?
Let's meet-up outside the Coles AGM to:
