Do you know that the fashion industry produces between 5-10% of global carbon emissions from the use of gas and diesel, including 1.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide per annum?
And too many clothes the fashion industry pumps out end up in landfills, where they decompose and release the dangerous greenhouse gas methane.
These confronting facts have motivated ACF Community Inner Melbourne to run a second Clothing for Climate event following our successful 2023 event in Collingwood. So we're back in 2024!
While it's great to enjoy our clothing and feel good in them, our goal is to help us connect the threads between the fashion industry and its impacts on nature and global warming.
In a fun and interactive way, learn more about how we can minimise our carbon footprint with clothing!
Bring along some clothes to repair, or clothes beyond repair that will be donated to RCYCL.
You and your mates and family are so welcome.
Please RSVP as places are limited!
