To the Queensland government,
From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now.
Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun.
If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices.
We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:
- Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
- Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020.
- Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector.

Very disappointed at Labor’s about fact and approval of Adani and other fossil fuels. Next election I am voting for the party that will take real action on climate change.
Please commit seriously to action regarding climate change and pursue green energy targets for our children and grandchildren.
Greenhouse gas emissions of each country are internationally monitored. Australia did well with the carbon tax but became an international embarrassment when the carbon tax was abolished. Please make Australia proud again in international affairs and stop to deal with corrupt people.

Come on Queensland, renewables are the future. Be bold and brave, map the transition for workers. Privatisation of our energy only works for shareholders, it has been disastrous for everyday Australians, we need a change in policies and a new plan.
We need to look to the future, not live in the past for the benefit of future generations. It’s time to stop being selfish!
