To the Queensland government,
From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now.
Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun.
If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices.
We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:
- Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
- Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020.
- Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector.
Let's get on with it!

Let’s stop procrastinating and get on with the development of clean energy and the phasing out of coal and live export-the electorate is expecting the government to do this
Am sick of hearing the mantra "jobs and growth " to justify continuing with mining coal and trashing the environment . Be brave develop policies to facilitate the transition away from dependence on fossil fuels.
Is it not time that it be mandatory that ALL new buildings, both private & commercial, be fitted with solar panels and rainwater tanks?
Land clearing also has to stop – NOW.
PLEASE Qld Govt, push the Federal govt into a change of mindset too. These fires ARE a result of global warming. All parts of Australia MUST pull their weight, Councils, State and Federal govts. No new coal mines incl. Adani!! Thank you.
Rebates, solar, water tanks, tree planting, improve environmental design for new estates and improve established estates(too many roof tops not enough trees, rebates or free trees, clean up initiatives, more trees in parks.
