To the Queensland government,

From droughts to bushfires, Queenslanders are living with the impacts of climate damage here and now.

Queensland can be a leader in clean energy. We could be powering our homes, our towns and our economy with good energy and new jobs, powered by the wind and the sun.

If Queenslanders own our clean energy, we can create thousands of jobs we can be proud of and bring down power prices.

We are calling on you to make public investment in big renewable projects a priority, and act now to:

  1. Get on with climate action: set stronger pollution reduction targets, and rapidly replace coal-fired power with clean energy
  2. Build publicly-owned renewables, starting construction of at least one large project by mid-2020
  3. Plan and fund a fair transition for workers in the energy sector

Let's get on with it!

AS a former Qlder it’s about time premier , you stood up & stopped worrying about the votes you are scared of losing, over things like ADANI, where jobs promised is a fiction , after production.starts .
You will lose more votes if you don’t front up about climate issues , as the population are well & truly over all the stalling federally ,

Please continue to support renewable energy production and phasing out of thermal coal.
In particular, do not let the Adani Coal mine proceed. Apart from coal burning contributing to emissions world wide which warm the planet, coal mining wastes our water and may damage our Great Artesian Basin and Great Barrier Reef.

I understand how we must as a state and country faze out coal and gas, however I must demand that we start to move toward that today, not next month today. No more new coal mines or gas fields. With the fires and droughts we must use the cheapest, which is the free sun, the free wind and the free waves,

You know it’s time to invest in renewable energy. Coal is a thing of the past. Stop taking handouts and listen to the voters. Stop spruiking “job creation” You know it’s false – there are other options

The coal mine operators in my neighbourhood will need jobs. Please speed up the roll out of publicly funded renewable schemes that will pay off long into the future and let coal die a quick and painless death.

I want to see my government commit to real climate change action. I think it is criminal in 2020 to be subsidising and investing in the fossil fuel industry when Queenslanders want change . We want to protect our tourism industry, our farming land, our rivers , our reef and our wildlife. We all rely on these assets and they define us
