Enjoy a quiet relaxing walk in the bushland around Uambi Reserve in Heathmont with the Chisholm ACF community group, chat to others who care about our environment. Learn more about our local plants and wildlife.
Uambi, or Harpers as it is also known, is a remnant bush block of Mixed-Stringybark forest and it has been identified as “a very significant remnant of the original vegetation in the Heathmont Area”. It's managed by the trust for Nature. Uambi is an indigenous word meaning "Pine Scrub". As such, conservation and protection of the biodiversity of Uambi is of the highest importance. By doing so, it will preserve the indigenous vegetation, increase habitat quality and improve the historical significance of Uambi.
Family/significant others are most welcome.
After the walk we hope you will be able to join us for snacks, a cuppa and a chat.
