Last year we had a Mad Hatters theme for our Christmas event.

Life for most of 2020 has been so different that we have all thought we had gone through the Looking Glass at times.  So the theme still seems entirely appropriate!  It's wonderful that lockdown has lifted sufficiently that we can plan our first physical event since February.

Now it's time to catch up and celebrate all the things we have done together this year. It’s certainly been an action-packed period. Members old and new are warmly invited to the ACF Chisholm Community end-of-year celebration, which will be a Mad Hatters Picnic in Wattle Park, Surrey Hills.

Hats are essential for protection from Melbourne’s increasing heat, but they don’t have to be serious. Don your funniest, fanciest, or most fabulous hat for the event.

We also want to hear from you on how we grow the group in both people and actions in the New Year – no idea is too ‘mad’ to be considered in the crisis that we face together.

Bring something festive for lunch. Given COVID safety requirements we won't be sharing food. The area has picnic tables and BBQs for those who wish to use them. It’s a popular spot so we suggest you bring along folding picnic chairs or a picnic blanket. Depending on our numbers we will have to spread out to comply with COVID safety guidelines. We will still observe 1.5m social distancing measures.

Family/significant others are most welcome. Details of all attendees will be recorded for COVID Safety.

ACF Community Chisholm is part of a network of independently organised, volunteer-run groups in the ACF community. ACF will pass on your contact details to the host for the purpose of running the event.

It's up to all of us to slow the spread of COVID-19. Please stay home and do not attend this event if you feel unwell or if you are showing any COVID symptoms (fever, shortness of breath, flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat or fatigue). Additionally, do not attend the event if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, or have had direct contact with an individual diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
