Adani are one step closer to digging their climate-wrecking mine, but they cannot turn the tide of public concern.
We’re weeks away from a federal election. It’s a critical moment to rise up as a movement and tell the people who want to represent us in our next government: if you want our votes you must stop Adani’s polluting coal mine.
Good thing the #StopAdani convoy is in town!
Organised by the Bob Brown Foundation, the #StopAdani convoy will travel from Hobart right up the east coast of Australia through Melbourne, Albury, Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Mullumbimby, Brisbane, Yeppoon, Airlie Beach, Mackay, and the Galilee Basin, before finally taking their message all the way to Canberra.
At each stop convoy participants will join together with the local community for a big, colourful rally. With Canberra the last stop, we need to make sure there’s a HUGE turnout – to demonstrate to all candidates and parties that Australians don’t want Adani’s climate-wrecking mine.
The whopping lineup of speakers includes:
Kelly O'Shanassy – CEO, Australian Conservation Foundation
Blair Palese – CEO, 350.org Australia
School strikers Tess and Taliah
Richard Flanagan – author
Alex Sloan – journalist and radio broadcaster (MC)
Paul Kelly – Australian rock music singer-songwriter, guitarist, and harmonica player
And of course Bob Brown!
This is an independently run event hosted by our friends at The Bob Brown Foundation.
