This week we've learned that tech company Siemens is considering a dirty deal with Adani.
Adani needs a company to install signalling on the 200km railway it will use to transport coal to the coast. Only a few companies in Australia can do this work – and all except Siemens have ruled it out!
Call any (or all!) of these Siemens offices and ask them to leave a message for Jeff Connolly (CEO Siemens Australia & Pacific) and Raphaelle Guerineau (CEO Siemens Mobility Australia & New Zealand). Ask them to rule out working on the climate-wrecking project.
Report back on your call so we can count our impact.

Calling tips
-
Be friendly and polite! Our concern is with Siemens' decision to work with Adani, not its employees.
-
These calls don't have to be long – the sheer number of calls is what will have an impact, so feel free to make it quick so you can get through as many as you can!
-
You may be asked to direct your message to their website – you can politely decline that, and leave your message with the staff member you are speaking to.
-
Ask directly for Siemens to rule out work on Adani's coal mine and rail project. Climate damage is here, now – we must end digging and burning coal.
Talking points
Remember, you don't need to be an expert on climate damage or anything else! You have a right to make this call and share your concerns about Siemens supporting a climate-wrecking project. Here are some talking points to help your call:
-
Share your support for Siemens committing to the Paris Agreement to keep global temperature rise well below 2°C and pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Remind Siemens that helping Adani dig up and export coal for burning is incompatible with the Paris Agreement.
-
Mention that burning coal is the biggest cause of climate damage – and the Adani mine would open the Galilee Basin to one of the biggest expansions of coal mining on planet Earth.
-
Suggest that by backing clean energy and refusing to work on dangerous projects like coal mines, companies like Siemens can provide solutions to the climate crisis – not be part of the problem.

I left messages on two of the lines and was given the customer
[email protected] email address. I have sent an email to the email address they gave me asking them to stop all future plans of working with Adani.
I spoke with a receptionist, I gave the receptionist my name and she said she would pass on my concern about Siemens working with the Adani company to their CEO.
she asked me to send my complaint in an email.
After a bit of a wait, the person answering told me she couldn’t direct my call about this to anyone in particular at the moment, and suggested I send an email. Vague response as to whether the calls were being counted in any way.
I called the head office and asked them to leave a message for Jeff Connolly – said that I was concerned about Siemens’s support of Adani. She said she would add it to the list of messages.
Took message, said would pass onto ceo with the rest of them
PLEASE do not support Adani! Australia does NOT want their coalmine. We are already on fire. We should be protecting the planet not adding to its destruction. Supporting adani will cost you credibility.
I was directed to email
[email protected] with my concerns – which I did. Who would be crazy enough to throw yet more fuel on the fire amid a national emergency?!
Wasn’t able to get through to 1. or 2. It almost sounded as if they were switched off or fax numbers… but I got through to someone at 3. who told me she couldn’t ‘log’ my cal but that they would prefer to receive an email with our concerns. I told her I appreciated her hearing our voices and to have a lovely day and she said “you too!”
Finally got through! – receptionist was polite and said my concern would be passed on to CEO. I asked how…“was the message being recorded” Yes and will be passed on…sounded as though she was tired of answering calls and couldn’t have cared less. I tried to voice several points of concern but she was constantly trying to disengage the call….“thank-you I will pass it on” “thank-you I will pass it on”…. call was polite on both sides but I am left feeling that I do not believe the call will be passed on to CEO and they are just going through the protocols of answering the phone…without listening.
Have called…..put on hold …. so registered disbelief at customer care!
Siemens – pls do the right thing and not support Adani..!
Left a message at switchboard, I was assured my comment would be passed to the CEO.
I rang, the receptionist was polite as was I. She took my name after I requested that she do so and pass on my concerns to management. The receptionist said she had received many calls. Hopefully this will produce positive results.
Went well, Registered, also asked for me to apply for it in email..
Also, I like your privacy policy..

So.. have at it. :D
The receptionist said she couldn’t put my call through to the CEO but would pass my message on to him.
I called head office
The woman really didn’t want to know. But I got to say how we are the driest inhabited continent on this planet and by backing clean energy etc etc.
Didn’t get beyond switchboard but had a polite person. I said I had always regarded Siemens as a good professional company, dental connection, but am appalled at the prospect….. She assured me the message would be passed on
Siemens is a German company which was highly regarded in ths telecommunications industry. Germany is now moving rapidly into renewable energy and especially in the development of batteries for storage. Strange that the company may well be partnering these alternative developments in Germany where they may be more accountable and yet can jump into bed in Australia with ADANI probably because our national leadership is so unaccountable and laissez-faire when it comes to encouraging corporate profiteering by both profit driven Australian and multinational mining corporations. I left a message pointing out that Siemens is in danger of losing its once highly respected reputation in the telecommunications industry. Lyn Maciver
I emailed – could not get through
The operator said that she would register my call. I asked that Siemens not provide signalling for the Adani coal mine.
They suggested emailing – but did register my call
I got through to head office and registered my concern with the receptionist. I phoned the corporate and the mobility offices which and left measages via voice mail.
Left message with reception and followed with n email
Aware of my concern. Gave me an email address to put concerns in writing.
It went well. I stayed calm and said I was a member of the ACF and I try to keep informed. I asked them to think of the Australian people and say NO to Adani. The operator said she would register my request.
very short! But the jSiemens switchboard operator was polite and said she would register the call.
After a long wait spoke to operator to ask if they could confirm rumors the contract has been signed as i live in whitsundays and am seeing the reef impacts. They said they cant redirect my call but gave me an email address. I spoke further about the personal impacts and them to pass my personal message on. They said they would record my call. I’ll send an email as well. Thanks.
