The Banyo Verge Garden Project, our ACF Community Brisbane Northside group nature project, and the Shady Lanes Project, all aim to encourage council-planted street trees supported by resident-planted native verge gardens that comply with the local council guidelines.

Come along to this talk about the many reasons this is the best planting option for cooling our cities, increasing biodiversity, and getting on with your neighbours.

Meeting Format:

  • DiscussionBrisbane City Council guidelines, why we need more street trees, why local native plants, and choosing what to plant
  • Brief updates on the project
  • Q&A, general discussion

Some native plants will be on display.

Afternoon tea and coffee will be provided.

The Banyo Verge Garden Project is a collaboration between Shady Lanes Project with The Australian Earth Laws Alliance (AELA) and Regen Brisbane/Meeanjin and other local organisations.

ACF Community Brisbane Northside is providing support and resources for meetings as part of the Australian Conservation Foundation’s Save Our Big Backyard campaign
