What future do we want for ourselves, our children, our grandchildren?

Our Community Conversations are held on the second Sunday of each month from 3pm to 5pm.

Each month, we will have a topic that addresses complex issues where there are no simple solutions, and create meaningful discussions and doable actions we can make at a local level.

At our first meeting on Sunday 13th August we are seeking the most effective way we can help address biodiversity loss and urban heat.

We will start with the question:

What if we combined our group's verge garden project with what we have learned through the Banyo Pilot Project to ramp up the greening of our streets throughout the region with street trees and native gardens?

What would success look like?

What would it change?

Whose lives would it change?

How do we make it happen?

Future topics will include issues like urban density, traffic congestion, sustainable transport, herbicide and pesticide use, etc. Participants at each meeting can suggest topics for future meetings.

When: Sunday 13th August, 3pm to 5pm
Where: Bracken Ridge Library meeting room (note new venue)
Public and Active Transport: Bus Route 330 from CBD, Bikeway map
Afternoon Tea provided.
