The Queensland Premier just announced she will veto the NAIF loan to Adani. With a state election three weeks away, now opposition leader Tim Nicholls must rule out supporting public money for this dirty mine. Our campaign is working.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk just announced that she will veto the loan to Adani’s polluting coal mine.

This is huge! Without the Queensland government facilitating the loan, there is no legal way the Turnbull government can get the proposed $1 billion of public funding from NAIF to Adani.

Our incredible community has raised the pressure in this campaign to the breaking point. This shows what people power can do.

But it’s not over yet. The pressure shifts to Tim Nicholls, leader of the Queensland Liberal National Party.

In three weeks, Queenslanders will vote in the state election. It’s critical that Tim Nicholls and the Liberal National Party rule out supporting public money for this polluting mine.

Donate today to hold him accountable with a huge campaign surge in the next three weeks.

Your donation will power our campaign in Queensland to inform voters where the parties stand on our environment. Together we can stop Adani and protect our reef.

Queensland voters will decide which party will best protect our reef and champion Queensland’s fast-growing clean energy industry – and whether it’s ok for Adani to receive a $1 billion of public money to build their polluting mega-mine.

Here’s what your gift can do in the next three weeks:

  • Fund billboards in key Queensland suburbs and a big Facebook advertising campaign.
  • Power our field campaign to distribute flyers, yard signs, scorecards, run candidate meetings and have personal conversations with Queenslanders.
  • Run a positive summit on clean energy with major stakeholders who have a brighter future in mind for the sunshine state.

Recent polling says that two-thirds of Queenslanders oppose a $1 billion taxpayer-funded loan to Adani.

People don’t want this dangerous mine – we want investment in clean energy and a beautiful, liveable planet for generations to come.

Please give what you can because this campaign to Stop Adani matters so much. We have come so far. Tonight’s news is huge, but it’s not over yet!

Never forget that the power of the people is greater than the people in power.
