Are you looking for a space to have real conversations, with real people about our environment and what we can do to protect it?

The Northern Beaches ACF Community Group is running a regular Book Club to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds on all things climate change, nature, and our local environment.

This month's book is Under a White Sky: The Nature of the Future by Elizabeth Kolbert.

Author of the international bestseller The Sixth Extinction, Elizabeth Kolbert returns to humanity's transformative impact on the environment, now asking - After doing so much damage, can we change nature, this time to save it? In her trademark persuasive and darkly comic prose, Kolbert introduces myriad innovations that offer ways to avert disaster - or may produce new disasters, ones that haven't been and perhaps cannot be anticipated. This book examines how the very sorts of interventions that have imperilled our planet are increasingly seen as the only hope for its salvation.
