Join ACFIM and Melbourne Girls College for our monthly native revegetation project beside the beautiful Yarra River.

The site is 300 metres NORTH of Hawthorn Bridge on the Yarra walk/bike track. Walk past the school's Boat Shed and you will see a slight rise that will take you to our site.

We had a great start to the year last working bee in February, with some fresh new faces and a visit from professional bushland managers Acacia environmental who made some notes for us on our discussion.

The 18th March plan is to ‘make a plan’ for some specific zoned plantings to make specific habitat for ground dwelling native bees- Monique Burns, former MGC student and Birrarung volunteer AND ecology educator at LaTrobe Wildlife Sanctuary who is advising us on how to map out and plan for these areas.

There should be an update on when Acacia will start their steam weeding operations and what we can do to best prepare the site.

Don Vogt-from ACFIM will present a Bee Hotel to the school site in memory of his Mum who died recently.

We will also be weeding and mulching, and turning the compost bays

BYO water, sunhat, firm outdoor walking shoes.
