The elusive Greater Bilby is one of Australia’s most threatened animals. It’s also one of our most-loved, despite the fact many of us have never seen one.
But land clearing for profit threatens their survival. To survive, greater bilbies need safe habitat to call home.
By speaking up and signing the open letter to get big money out of politics, you will be sending a strong message to our elected representatives that it’s time we create a healthy, thriving democracy that’s good for people and planet.
Every signature gets us closer to a democracy that:
Caps political donations by corporations to curb unfair influence.
Reports donations as they happen so we are all informed.
Includes an independent body to investigate and stamp out corruption.
When big money and politics mix, nature loses out.
Sign the open letter: call on our elected representatives to get big money out of our political system, and put people and planet back in.

Open letter
To our elected representatives,
We call on you to work together to get big money out of our political system and put people back in.
This means:
Banning large donations to political parties and candidates.
Increasing the transparency of political donations, including real time reporting of donations.
Limiting expenditure at election times so corporations can’t use their oversized wallets to drown out our voices.
Creating an independent watchdog to investigate and stamp out corruption.
Stronger lobbying regulation and greater transparency so we know who’s meeting with our elected representatives and why.

I would like to raise my voice to defend the Bilby and biodiversity for the future. We will loose the Bilby and many other species if we do not protect their habitat. We know now that clearing these sites damages them forever, and that they cannot be brought back to what they once were. These unique animals can survive in a harsh environment, they are uniquely adapted to it. Beef cattle will degrade the land, and will struggle to survive on it. Big donors to political parties want what they want now, they do not care about the future, they want immediate profit, short-term goals. When they no longer are able to farm beef cattle on the land they are degrading forever, they will simply pack up and move on. Leaving us bereft of Bilbies and countless other species of flora and fauna, with pretty much a desert that can support no life.

We need to protect and conserve Australia’s native species and land. Not just for the safety of bio-diversity, but for the safety of our futures.

Don’t touch those cute little guys! Every animal is precious and our human worthiness is measured by how much we are able to take care of those who can’t do so much if catastrophe occurs or without catastrophe!

Please listen to David Attenborough who feels there is still hope to save the habitats of endangered species. I believe this if you come on board and cease putting the god money before our precious biodiversity.

Why do political parties continue to be swayed through corrupt donations at the cost of our flora, fauna and environment? Enough!

The situation around political donations and corporations is, essentially, politics based corruption. Australia cannot continue to lose species and habitats.

The economy will be worthless if we allow the environment to suffer because of it.

Let’s look after our planet. It’s the only one we have. We whities have been in Australia for less than four hundred years and we are doing a good job of ruining it.

Corporate greed & influence on political decisions by large donations is affecting endangered species by destroying habitats.
Think again for the sake of our environment!
