Join ACF Brisbane South & Logan for an exclusive guided walk through Berrinba Wetlands with Prof Darryl Jones, Ecologist and Ethologist at Griffith University. Reconnect with nature by meeting up with like-minded ACF members, getting to know our local wildlife in the places we love. Learn about the links between our wild places and our suburbs and our how we can live with and support animal and plant life.

We will be meeting early at 0800 for an 0815 start in the car park - this is a Google Maps link for the car park meeting spot.

Here is a map of the Berrinba Wetlands

There are more than 100 bird species to be seen - here’s a link to eBird for more information.

After walking through the wetlands we will return to the car park and drive to the nearby Compton Road Wildlife Overpass.
Prof Jones will give us exclusive access and a tour of the overpass where Griffith University has been conducting scientific research on the ecology of the overpass since it was built, more than 15 years ago.

Detailed directions will be provided on the day. If there is time we may also visit a new overpass which is being built as part of the Logan Motorway upgrade.

Numbers are limited to 50 for this tour, so if you RSVP there is a maximum of +4 and please ensure all those you RSVP for are definitely coming.

BONUS - Prof Jone’s new book “Feeding the Birds at Your Table” will be launched just two days before this guided walk.
If you would like to buy a copy we recommend you also come to the book launch on Friday 11 October (18.30-20.00) - tickets are $10 and are being sold by Avid Reader: Buy your ticket now!

ACF Community Brisbane South & Logan is part of a network of independently organised, volunteer-run groups in the ACF community. ACF will pass on your contact details to the host for the purpose of running the event.
