ANZ has a climate problem. The bank is planning to have $8.7 billion invested in fossil fuels by 2030– that’s almost double what the other big banks are investing.
Bushfires, drought – the climate crisis is here, now, and ANZ must do the right thing by all of us and shift the billions of dollars they are responsible for out of burning and digging fossil fuels like coal.

"As concerned citizens, customers, shareholders, and employees, we call on ANZ to stop financing the digging and burning of fossil fuels. The first steps are:
- divesting from thermal coal by 2030 or earlier;
- divesting from oil & gas in line with the Paris climate agreement;
- not investing in new or expansion coal, gas & oil projects;
Burning fossil fuels is the biggest driver of climate damage. We are concerned about the climate crisis and want action."

Without climate action ,there be no economic growth.
It’s a no-brainer. The world is moving away from fossil fuels. To protect your stakeholders as well as the planet, please divest from thermal coal by 2030, at the latest. Also, honour the Paris Climate agreement and divest from oil and gas.
this is vital if you want to avoid extinction
Plan for the future, not the past. Fossil fuel is from the past.
Stop financing dirty, toxic fossil fuel industries > coal, oil & gas.
Save our planet from annihilation.
Assuming that ANZ Executives and Board Members accept that the have a duty to their and to the laws of the country, pursuing a policy that is fundamental to the health of Australia’s economy and survival of its people, should be a no-brainer! And…vice verca.
Step up to the 21st Centur. Acknowledge that Australia’s “development” has gone far too far – it’s now vastly un-sustainably overdeveloped. Soils, water, forests, reefs, biodiversity all in drastic decline due to overpopulation, over-development, over-consumption exacerbated by climate change. we are headed for collapse and extinction if we don’t pull back. This is no time for “investment” in fossil fuels. Get out of it and give the planet a chance.
It is no longer socially or economically sound to continue to invest in fossil fuels. No responsible lender can continue to have significant investments in this area in 2020, let alone 2030.
