ANZ has a climate problem. The bank is planning to have $8.7 billion invested in fossil fuels by 2030– that’s almost double what the other big banks are investing.
Bushfires, drought – the climate crisis is here, now, and ANZ must do the right thing by all of us and shift the billions of dollars they are responsible for out of burning and digging fossil fuels like coal.

"As concerned citizens, customers, shareholders, and employees, we call on ANZ to stop financing the digging and burning of fossil fuels. The first steps are:
- divesting from thermal coal by 2030 or earlier;
- divesting from oil & gas in line with the Paris climate agreement;
- not investing in new or expansion coal, gas & oil projects;
Burning fossil fuels is the biggest driver of climate damage. We are concerned about the climate crisis and want action."

I am planning to leave ANZ because of this. Clean up your act.
I am an ANZ customer and am very disappointed with the ANZ banks lack of environmental credibility or forsight.
My husband and I have bank accounts with ANZ and wish to see investment in clean, green energy and are calling on you to stop investing in fossil fuels which are destroying our planet.
ANZ, you seem to be a bit behind the times. Being the last fossil fuel financing bank standing is not good business sense. Other banks are getting out of fossil fuels for good reasons.
I have been with ANZ Bank since I was a child. The knowledge of these investments in future fossil fuels means I will be taking my money elswhere. I hope more people search for a positive and productive approach to our environments and its future.
It’s time to take a stand and make it a difference.
Our state governments (not the feds) and many large companies are leading the way in shaping a better, safe, healthier environment for future generations.
What about you ANZ? How about focusing on people’s lives instead of just the bottom line? Be a leader of the clean solution and earn our respect; instead of earning dirty money, and our disgust.
