As we face the challenges of greedy energy companies exerting influence on politics, annual climate damage across Australia, and a global record in mammal extinctions, Australia is presented with huge opportunities to build back better.
That’s why we’re holding Activate 2022: a day of community-building and organising training, as we bring people together to plan and learn the skills that we need for a collaborative, better future.
Bring someone you love to Activate and connect with other people from your community who care about protecting our living world. Learn the skills you need to make lasting change, both locally and nation-wide. We’ll cover the basics of organising, our theory of change, and the Federal Court case we’ve got against Woodside’s Scarborough Gas Project. We will also plan tangible actions we can take on the ground together!
Western Australia has an opportunity to set a precedent for the rest of the country and end new coal and gas projects once and for all.
Activate launches the local community movement that’s necessary to win over public opinion and take away the social licence from polluters to continue destroying the planet. Every one of us is needed. Each member of our community has an abundance of unique and valuable experiences, knowledge and skills. This diversity makes us stronger and allows us to build people power, enact powerful changes and collaborate to combat the extinction and climate crisis.
Who will be there?
As well as peers from your community, you’ll meet ACF team mates:
How to contribute to the costs:
While there is no cost to participate to ensure no one misses out, donations of $10-$40 are most welcome.
What to expect at Activate Training:
