We are entering one of the most creative and transformative decades in history. Together we must face this climate and extinction crisis with the courage to make it bring us together – not tear us apart.
We’ve got a lot of work to do to get all our leaders – in business, government and in all corners of our communities – to work together and truly tackle the challenges ahead.
More and more of us are speaking out. But only through unprecedented people power can we build organised communities for sustained change.
That’s why we’re asking you to help build the skills and connections your community needs.
Throughout the year, ACF’s Community Organising team is touring our 2-day Activate training program to a location near you.
Get energised, learn new skills, and connect with others. By the end of the training, you’ll be ready to be a part of powerful national campaigns and run local campaigns of your own!
We must harness this momentum to build unprecedented support in our communities to stop climate damage. The breadth of engagement with these strikes – deep within schools, workplaces, unions, and across a huge spectrum of the mainstream media – points to the fact we’re reaching a tipping point.
It’s up to each of us to do the work to bring everyone in our communities on board.

Change happens when ordinary people get engaged and come together to make it happen. People power gave women the right to vote, and stopped slavery. People saved the Franklin River from becoming a dam.
For generations, people have come together to make life better for themselves and those who follow. Now it’s our turn!
What will happen at Activate:
- We’ll share the fundamentals of building people power, including how to run an effective, structured, and fun group, how to have persuasive conversations, and how to grow our national movement for change.
- We’ll delve deep into our strategy to stop digging and burning coal, rapidly transition to 100% clean energy, and protect Australia’s unique natural places – and how you can be a part of it.
- We’ll also provide lunch, snacks, and plenty of stories!
Together, we’re building powerful, organised communities to create long-term change. We’re taking on the big challenges to create a system that does right by people and nature. Come to Activate and get ready to be part of a powerful national movement.
