You are invited to ACF Macnamara's End of Year Event!  🤗💚🎄✨

There are two activites. The first activity is a tour within Warburton which has a maximum of 6 cars full of people. The second activity is a group EOY picnic which has no capacity limits. 

You are invited to both but can come to just one activity if you want to do that. Family and friends welcome. 

 

Date: Saturday 11th December

Time: 10 am – 4pm (13:00 picnic)

Address: Big Pats Creek, Warburton

Distance: Approx. 68 km from Melb city (1.5 hrs drive)

Public amenities: Public toilets/general store

 

What to bring:

For Activity 1 - Please bring sturdy footwear, comfortable walking clothes (including a sunhat and /or rain gear), water and snacks. Check the weather prior to attending to make sure you are prepared for the conditions.

For Activity 2 – BYO picnic food, refreshments, and equipment (blankets, chairs, tables etc).

Activity 1

What: A guided forest tour of clear fell logging of native forest at Big Pats Creek, Warburton. This tour is suitable for all ages.

Time: 10 am – 1pm

Duration: 3hrs

Meeting location: Warburton True Value Hardware, 3459 Warburton Hwy, Warburton VIC 3799.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Attendee numbers are capped at however many people we can fit into a maximum of 6 cars. e.g., 6 cars with 5 people in each = 30 attendees. If we have over 6 cards, we could combine people into 6 cars at the meeting place.

ITINERARY:

10:00 am:       We will meet at the Warburton True Value Hardware (3459 Warburton Hwy, Warburton VIC 3799).

                        Try to be there on time. (If running late text Alice/Nic on 0427258333).

10.30am:        We will drive approximately 25 minutes out past Big Pats Creek and up Smythe Creek Road to our first clearing.

                        Warburton members of the Victorian Forest Alliance will discuss the industrial process whilst inside the logged area.

11.30am:        From here we will drive to see the clearing from below.

12.30pm:        We will then go to see an endangered Tree Geebung (the basis of their Supreme Court case).

1:00pm:          Tour finishes at Big Pats Creek picnic ground.

What:             ACFM BYO EOY picnic

Time:              1pm – 4pm

Duration:       3hrs

Attendees:     No limit on attendee numbers
